Who I am
As an emergency medicine doctor for 25 years I have treated patients for everything from gunshot wounds to heart attacks. Although patients in critical situations require quick response, my approach is still to see a patient through the lens of whole person medicine. Whole peson medicine is the foundation of both my osteopathic medical training and of lifestyle medicine.
There are so many different ways to help people heal. I have always been intrigued by how many of them can fit together to accomplish wellness.
I am board certified in lifestyle medicine, emergency medicine, and internal medicine with distinction in osteopathic maipulative therapy (OMT).
One part of my training that has impacted me greatly was participating in an inter-professional integrative medicine program. It brought together practitioners in different healing modalities, such as physicians, acupuncturists, massage therapists, chiropractors, aromatherapists, herbalists, and more. It helped me recognize ways to develop innovative and collaborative treatment plans for my patients.
I currently live in New York City and have two teen daughters. I love to garden, cook, travel, run and take long walks in nature along the Hudson River.
