What is Osteopathy?
The body is really wise. In addition to injury it can hold traumas, memories and emotions. We often have to work to release some of the tensions or restrictions.
The body is very wise. It can often heal itself and there are times it just needs a little support. Its systems are multiplicitous, unified and interrelated. They work with each other in order to heal a sick or injured body.
Osteopaths use their extensive medical training to encourage the wisdom of the body for healing and well-being. I place emphasis on prevention and on the way environment and lifestyle impact a patients overall health.
An osteopathic manipulative treatment involves gentle and precise application of force with the physicians hands over different aspects of the body to eliminate restrictions in the tissues (muscle, bone, fascia, fluid) and balance asymmetries found during the exam.
Each patients experience of the treatment is different, some may feel relaxation, reduced muscle tension, improved motion and flow, subtle changes over time, or nothing at all.

What is Lifestyle Medicine?
An approach to patient care that uses evidence based prescriptive lifestyle changes to treat the whole person. This approach is utilized to treat a variety of conditions including chronic health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity or heart disease. Together, we tailor these practices based upon your personal goals.
Lifestyle medicine focuses on six pillars of health: nutrition, stress management, physical activity, restorative sleep, positive social connection, and avoidance of risky substances.
Working directly with a physician on your health goals can be an excellent way to navigate together what works best for you. You are not a singular disease, diagnosis, or system. You are a whole person with many facets which all contribute to your health and well-being.
